WHEN I TEACH, I GET THE GIFT OF A SMILE!

One of my gifts is teaching. 

This SPECIAL page is for the many students who have waved and greeted me with "Hello, Ms. S." - in school classrooms, hallways and even outside. 

When I teach, I get a SMILE – from my students, their parents, siblings, schools, communities,...the list is endless.

I have taught and helped enumerable students, first in New York City as a high school, Language Arts Teacher, and currently as a New Jersey Certified Substitute Teacher, PreK through grade 12, since 2011.  

I believe effective teaching produces results. 

I believe that every student has the power to learn and succeed.  I can help you improve your grades and increase your brain power. This is one-on-one, teaching/tutoring  and learning at its best. 

I teach student-centered learning with DEEP CREATIVITY, MOTIVATION AND LOGIC.   I want you to learn. 

I want to hold your attention. and find out why you have trouble with a particular subject(s) - a word, sentence, book, spelling, reading, or a mathematical problem/equation. Is it logic, memory, attention, and/or processing / thinking problems?

Because everyone studies / understands subjects and problems differently, the best teachers and tutors offer diverse education styles. 

If you do not understand something, I will stay with you and explain what we are working with, in as many different ways as possible.  I won’t give up on you. You will not be lost in a large classroom's maze of faces or student numbers.

This is what is so special about tutoring and student-centered learning.  I can tailor my teaching to your individual needs to increase your success.  

I create individualized lessons and motivating instruction to hold attention and improve cognition, memory, and the learning success. 

I also believe that learning should be enjoyable, not tedious.  A gifted teacher should incorporate techniques that counter boredom, anxiety, poor attention spans, restlessness, and just plain giving up.  With younger grades, fun even helps.
